well been a while now and i having a bad time with the gravel i know this may sound funny but its harder to clean than sand so its looking like another swap over

also with out a UGF i finding it hard to get it all Clean! all ah well back to sand!

just get a carpet plant like micro sowrd or something and then you wont even notice it :p

Thats what im doing. Also im getting some shrimp to eat of the bottom so its not a big deal to me about a clean bottom anymore :)

I have 4 tanks... 2 had UGFs...that I have since
removed and have put a 1 cm layer of sand....
both these tanks have no plants except for floating
or a big glob of java moss.....
In the 55 gal that had a UGF, I used a pasta strainer
and removed the larger gravel and kept the smaller
stuff.... have about 1.25" of 2-3mm gravel and have
the bottom covered with java ferns and drift wood.
I will never go with another UGF....
