Bacteria Bloom- How long will it last!?

Ok, so a few days ago I cleaned and "reset" my 5gal. I had really dirty water, and the gravel just trapped a bunch of food that would hit the floor. Now the milky-white water is starting to come back. I did a search and learned that it's just ammonia-eating bacteria, and it should go away.

I'm just wondering what I can do to make it go away faster. Remove a fish temporarily? I have some stuff called "cycle"....think that would help or hurt?

Just leave it, it will go away on its own. As long as your ammonia and nitrites are at zero, it's not harming the fihs. Regular (weekly) water changes/gravel siphoning will help prevent this in the future.

"Usually" about 2 - 3 days, give or take. Leave it be, it will take care of itself.

Lotus is right, regular mini maintenance is better than letting it go for a period of time, and doing a BIG cleanup, which can cause a tank mini cycle again.
