TOOK HOURS TO GET IT SET UP AND WHEN I WAS PUMPING THE CANISTER, A BUNCH OF WATER CAME RIGHT OUT THRU THE CANISTER LID. THAT GASKET SEAL DOES NOTHING!!! WATER ALL OVER THE CARPET!!!

Anyone want to save this Fluval from the trip back to PetsMart? I'm thinking about getting a BETTER filter, and thats the Emperor. Ugh, I cant believe this.

Well, the picture in the manual was not clear. There was two linings and I placed the gasket seal into the wrong one. Somehow, with the grace of God, I noticed the other lining and tried the gasket seal there. It works. The filter is currently operating. There are lots of areations, due to two of 18" airstones. The outflow is facing foward and I want it to face at an angle, so the water will flow out toward the other side of the tank. When I feel like it, I"ll adjust it.

I was planning to also have Emperor 400, but the Fluval tubes are in the way. :(

Last I saw an XP3 at PetsMart and its a canister. Yup, you're using a canister filter. :)

Thunder,
I'm pretty sure Lonewolfblue knows that the XP3 is a canister filter...I believe what his point was, was that after using and experiencing this item, he would never use another canister brand that was not an XP3..*crazysmil

Not to put down the other filters, but I personally love my Fluval. It works really great, you just got to know who to work them and sometimes decifer the hard to understand instructions. What ever works for you is best for you :D. I hope your filter keeps doing the it's supposed to do and does it great.
