iv been shining a blue light on it too long and too close...
and this happened....



i think i ate the zooplex i gave it but not the mysis.
is he going to be ok?

oh and also hes about the split?

It is just splitting, nothing is wrong with it. You really should get your lighting set up permanently thought...some more sensitive corals will not be very happy with irregular light cycles.

guess my "t" was jammed. but u get what i mean "it"

i havent read anything about it going bold around the mouth when spliting so pretty glad now.


oh and i think this started to happen when i used the blue light too much and too long...

from the other thread about the frog spawn you can see it in the reflection of the tank and it looks like a "Coralife Aqualight 1 Watt Lunar Blue Moon-Glow LED Light" :p

just a quick update.

the ricordea is finally spliting. it seems that its spliting into 3 parts but one of them doesnt have a mouth so i bet its going to take a while.

iv finally know why the guy at the LFS split the rock in-half (to speed up the splitting)

im going to get a more intense light for it and see how it does.
