Bala's

I have read alot about bala's. But does anyone here have/had them.
What are some good fish that they can live with?
Is 100g a good size for 4 of 'em and some other fish?
And where is the best place to buy a tank this large?
Plus I'm thinking about getting a bunch (7-8)- is that a good idea and how big of a tank is needed.

And yes I do plan to get some(I have one he just needs a bigger tank and some buddies)).

I know the answer to most of these question, I just want to see people's ideas and thoughts; Before I buy and mess it all up!

Well they get about a foot long(maybe bigger) so I would think a 125g tank for 4 of them. They do like to be in schools from what I heard. They can live with Large Barbs and Gourami's(pink kissing gourami's). So to fit all that maybe a 125-200g tank would be best.

i would say a min. of 250gal for 4 of them, they do get 16 inches long ya know, if you want 8 i would say a min of 500-600gal.

they are also known tank busters. they get freaked easy, so a 250+ gallon tank plus subdued lighting would be perfect.

Has anyone seen them over 12"???, I haven't seen any pictures of them that big.

I have 2 of them in a 55 gal right now, but they are only 3" long each. I'm plannin on buildin a bigger tank, but anyways, Mine seam to be fine with the rest of the fish I have, listed in my signature.

I saw one 6-7" once but thats it. But I'm not sure what tank size can fit 4.

ive personally seen a group of 5 that each where at least 15" if not more.
