Bangaii Cardinals

When I got up this morning I noticed that one of my bangaii cardinals decided he had a liking for shrimp......peppermint shrimp that is. Seems he was hunting during the night. He couldnt swallow the whole thing so swam around for a couple of hours with part of the shrimp hanging out of his mouth. Who would have thought it as I would have thought that the shrimp was too big to be eaten by the cardinal.....

you sure the shrimp didnt just die and get eaten after it was dead?

large specimen can have big mouths...but they're so peaceful

I thought they were too. Then the lights go out.......and they become hunters extraordinaire......very fast with voracious appetites. Actually I was thinking of trying to catch some of those shrimp......and move them to another tank. I actually saw one of the cardinals ingest a half cube of formula one in one bite. They have large mouths as they are mouth brooders and can fit an amazing amount in there and I don't believe mine are full grown as they are only about an inch in length

LOL. I turned the SW tank over to Hubby (Im still guiding him a bit) and he bought a V-Tail Grouper and now my shrimp that I had in the tank are gone. Hmmm I wonder why. LOL.

funny......groupers are notorious for that.
