A couple of the saulosi subadults are starting to show signs of being male, but this guy is definitely starting his transition. I actually kind of wish he'd stay like this...I like the black barring and stripe on his dorsal with the gold of the saulosi.

Apparently he and this other one though the whole picture-taking process was yawn-worthy - caught this guy at the end of a yawn too.

But even the little man will never be dominant as long as this guy is in the tank:
