I was wondering how you people change your heated tank water? Hot water from the tap has gases in it that could be harmful...so i'm told...and boiling the water in a kettle/pot to add to cold water in a bucket seems like a lot of time consuming effort. Is there some trick to it? :-/

Well, I do only small water changes so that the new cold tap water won't affect the overall change of the big tank at all.  For my 60 gallon, I just change only 5-7 gallons at a time.  This has no effect on my fish at all.
Another way is to put the water in another container like a 20 gallon tank and use a heater until the temperature matches that of the other tank.  Doing this for a overnight might even let the chloramine/chlorine out of your tap water.

My 90G tank is at 84F and I usually do a 35% water twice a week matching the tap water to the tank water. Never had any problems. I have not heard of gas problems in heated water.

I also use tapwater(partial from the heater)

I have never had bad effects.

A good thing to do is to flush your hot water heater twice a year to get rid of the sediment it may contain. I think I am overdue.
