Beta/Cichlid question

1.) they prefer vastly different water conditions (bettas like soft, peaty acidic water; cichlids swim in liquid calcium)
2.) both can be grumpy little @-holes (nipfest '06).
3.) for as much flaring and flipping out as they do, bettas are notoriously wimpy. he would get his butt kicked.
please don't do it.
if you're wanting a new fish in with your cichlids, go for a small synodontis catfish. if you've found a betta you can't resist, put him in his own little world.
