Okay... *looks confuzzledly at Den-Ki* My Betta just took a hazard swim all over his little tank, and ran into rocks and uprooted his gravel n' stuff.

He's been sitting at the bottom for about 5 minutes, is it possible he done knocked himself out?

And should I try to nudge him a bit?

Well...did something scare him? Perhaps a big noise? Did you just turn a light on near him? Does he look sick otherwise?

If you aren't sure if he's okay, give him a little nudge and see if he moves. Keep an eye on him to make sure he's going to the surface to breath. If he somehow really did hurt himself, he may be too "out of it" to swim to the surface for air.

Hope he's okay:(

Well, he gave himself the biggest bruise I've ever seen on a fish. All over his head too. But no, no loud noises, no lights, no vibrations.. psycho? Possibly.

His eyes look healthy, just a darker shade on his head.

Oh and while he's in the subject, what causes a Betta to split it's fins?

Den-Ki started out with a tear shaped rip in his 'belly' fin, and now it's completely split almost all the way. There isn't any type of fungal-looking stuff on it, nor anything else. It just split. *shrugs*

But now I've moved him into my new 10 Gallon I just got done setting up. Conditioner too of course. ;)

Okay, I don't know what to say about him freaking out other than keep an eye on him.

As for tearing fins...if it isn't rot or fungus, but simply a tear...he probably tore it on a decoration. Plastic plants can have sharp edges that tear betta fins. Or, since he's been acting crazy lately, its possible that he tore it himself. How big of a container is he in? Sometimes, if the container is too small, they start attacking their own fins...

I've had him ever since *points to date on sig*. He went between my 10 to back into his .5 because he wanted to flare up and try to drown himself behind the filter he thought he was attacking.

But, I put him in a more mellower spot in the room. Well, it's one hardly anyone goes into, but ah well.

Thanks for the advice guys! :D
