Betta Flaring

Does your male betta flare at his tankmates? Just curious... mine does, but hasn't attacked my platy yet.

Sometimes he will, usually it is after those annoying killis...

My betta doesn't flare at his tankmates at all. I was worried that he might flare at my dwarf gourami cause he's pretty and my betta might think of him as competition, but everyone leaves everyone else alone.

hmm... i guess it just depends on the betta's personality

I keep on hearing about bettas being very individual with their personality. I guess it's fair to assume that each fish has his or her own temperment. My girlfriends betta doesn't have any tankmates so we can't tell how his temperment is with other fish. He does get upset and flares sometimes if you try to remove his favourite plant from his tank.

lol.. yeah, my betta is very attached to the fake plant in the tank... it used to be the platy's, but then i moved it to the front of the tank where the platy rarely ventures cuz i put a heater in and i didn't want the plant to melt or anything... i haven't tried to move the plant though...
