I just noticed my betta has this thread like white stuff comeing from his scales. He was fine last night. But hes eating and really active. Any one have any ideas? I added some aquarium salt and some slime coat with the hopes of helping him.
Hmmm I can't see.
White spots are usually either bacterial or parasitic. I would isolate him (if he's not already). Maracyn (sp?) has Coppersafe for Parasites and they have an antibiotic you can use with it. Both are about $8.00 a bottle iirc.
My betta had white fluffy stuff once too. I was told to put him in a jar and dose him with salt. That was when I had no clue. But maybe, if he's alone in there, you could try that?
Correct me (tab or whoever) if I'm wrong.
it might be columnaris, does it look like cotton? And is it spreading to his back like a saddle on a horse? You might have to treat with maracyn and maracyn 2
