Betta with Live-bearers

Can a betta be kept with live-bearers. i know it cant with guppies. colors to bright

It depends on the betta I had a betta that lived with long finned guppies and it never chased them. I tryed this with my curret betta and he chased the guppies around so I had to take them out. He gets along with 3 platys. The guppies are the only problem just put a few in on the weekend when you have time to watch them and see what happens.

I too have had good success with bettas and guppys. I guess there is only one way to know how it will work for you!

Yes they can be kept with guppis and other live-bearers such as platies. But more often than not, bettas will eat the fry.

I have a beta in with 9 platys and a couple neons, my platys had babies and the beta ate them. I wouldn't recommend putting them in with anything with large tails or fins

What do tails and fins have to do with the tempermant/tank mates of the fish? The reason the beTTa ate the fry is because thats their diet. They WILL eat live foods, given the opportunity. I have 2 corydoras in my betta community tank. As far as I can tell, ones a male and ones a female. The bettas are a great benefit in the chance that the cories will produc fry. I can't support cory fry right now.
