as a general rule, if your room temperature is around the mid 70's constantly then you won't need a heater. However, i keep a heater in my tanks cuz my room temperature tends to fluctuate, especially below the mid 70's. I have the heater set to be between 78-80 degrees F. just make sure to get the right heater for the right size tanks or your gonna have some crispy fishies! YIKES! hope that helps! :)

Kool skata - your 12 gal. is immensly over stocked, you need to get the angel, pleco (assuming its a common pleco) and CAEs out of that tank ASAP.

Inline sk8a - your 10 gal. is also over stcoked, those shubukins are gonna get huge, assming they are not stunt growthd, and lets not even start on the grass carp 4' fish in a 10 gal ... :(

If you are going to put your tanks and fish in your posts, be prepared for the constructive criticism of aquarists. I absolutely agree. Those tanks are overstocked and your are asking for problems.
