It's like a sea-world act feeding these female bettas.

3 out of 4 of them have popped their heads up over the side of the tank when I'm trying to get food in there. The fourth is different type. She's a really neat dark purple and much smaller than the other 3. Two of the big ones look to be dragon scales.

One of them bit me on the finger during a water change and hung on for a second!

If this is a regular thing with her it might not be a bad idea to add a bit of stress coat to the water whenever she decides to get some air. As long as you don't add too much or too often it won't hurt and will help any scrapes heal and keep from getting infected, as well as helping with the stress. I have had very good luck in not getting any siamese "flying" fish but had this problem a lot when I had guppies and had a much better healing/survival rate after adding stress coat regularly.
