No guys, I didn't cave and get a new one, but with all the talk and everyone getting all the pretty new o's of late I went diggin' though my computer looking at pics of my guy. He needs no formal intro to MFT, as he was around way back in the day (I think...) but it's been many a moon since his fishy presence graced these screens.

Ahhh, classic newb mistake. (Lets see, an inch per gallon, two 10 inch fish full grown, and hey! Pleco's don't add to the bio-load! Great for a 20 gallon tall tank!!!)

This was Eddie and Norm. Seemed like good names for the pair. Got them when I lived in TN. Sold Norm back to the LFS before moving back to Ky though.

Big E definitely had some funky patterns going on. One of the most colorful and most interesting patterns I've seen in most Oscars.

He (she?) was right at 12" when we gave him to the LFS here. We were afraid that some moron would buy him and put him in a 20 gallon tank. It was nice to know that he went to a guy who had just lost his oscar of 10+ years and was going to have a nice comfy 150 gallon all to his self.

Now you've got me all excited in knowing that my little Triton possibly, if I'm lucky, could in some way end up looking like Eddie (who was a Tiger-'O' too, right?). Gorgeous patterning and coloration. I'm honestly in awe, Orion...thanks so much for sharing! :)

Couldn't have asked for a better situation for Eddie, eh? I mean, a guy with 10+ years of oscar experience. Having just lost his older oscar, getting Eddie must have been a real treat for him. Sounds like Eddie's definitely in good hands with his new owner. *thumbsups

Yep he was a Tiger Oscar. I want to say that it took about two years for him to finally stop growing. The first year he easily hit 9-10", then slowly filled out the rest. He grew more in width than anything though :) It was easy to grow him out though. Lots of food, lots of filtration, lots of clean water and some melafix on hand for the wayward times he panicked, hurt himself and needed to keep the infection at bay. lol

We don't have room for anymore large tanks, but if my 75 became open agian I would seriously think about it. I would probably do a few severums and one albino tiger oscar.
