Only buy a goldfish if you know how to cycle and maintain a coldwater outdoor pond and research the topic thoroughly. Goldfish are poop machines and I could only imagine how large of a pond a goldfish that long would require...probably somewhere around a couple thousand gallons of water.

We have had an outdoor pond before for our common goldfish. We used 3 filters and it was about 10 feet in diameter. Now that was for 5 common goldfish (when we removed them and rehomed them there were 15 goldfish ^^ ) I cant imagine how large of an outdoor pond you'd have to have to properlly house one of these monster's your talking about

My grandpa has about three small backhoe created lakes on his property up in Washington. It's one of the few reasons I wish I lived on the west coast. It's taken him the better part of 10+ years to cultivate that property. It took him about five of those years from keeping the local wildlife from cleaning out his stocked manmade lakes. I think he eventually gave up.

If I could, I would.
