My sister wants a fishtank, and seems to have her heart set on these. Anyone know anything about them? I haven't heard anything good, but thought I'd check here before saying anything to her. Thanks!
i have seen the biorb, and it doesnt seem like there is enough surface area to sustain life... beyond simple cyanobacteria... no clue about the biorb though. i saw one at petsmart, and it looks ok, but i thing it comes with a ugf.
Did you do a search for this on the board? There was a thread about them not too long ago and I dont think many people had anything good to say about them.
Maybe when you let your sister know that you can't really put much of anything in it she will be more interested in a different tank? How about pushing her towards an eclipse system?
That's what I'm pushing for. I want her to get an Eclipse twelve. Her ideas on tanks are so much different than mine. She wants the scuba diving dog and teal gravel. I'm just going to try and make whatever she chooses the safest that it can be for whatever she decides to put in.
BiOrb looks pretty cool tho which is probably why your sister likes it. If thats what you get you are stuck with only cool water fish unless you hang a heater through the top. This would ruin the whole look and hence the reason for buying it in the first place. Light is horrible too.
