My wife knows the way to my heart. She bought me an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey for my birthday/fathers day. He wouldn't quite work with my Africans so his home is in my sons' community 55g. I'm sure he'll end up ruling that tank in the end. Here's some photos...

Happy birthday bud, that's a good looking EBJD you'll have to post pics as he grows. They remind me a lot of Oscars but blue, very very pretty when full grown, and a highlight to any showcase tank.

FF, they are carnivores, and anything that will fit in their mouth, will be there soon, they grow to 10-12 " in size.

Yeah everything in there will likely be food eventually. Except for the angels. Actually he is currently being bullied pretty bad by a black molly.

Yeah well he is messing with a 35$ fish so he needs to weigh his options here.

thats a sexy jd, I've always thought about getting them as well. I just run into the same issue. my cichlids would kill it and all my other fish would turn into colorful feeders once it grew up. friday i was thinking of picking up a snowflake eel but again, same issue lol. would love to have an eel in one of my tanks.

Just bought him some beef heart. Hopefully that helps him out grow that molly.
