My large black molly has ich spot on it's back. I'm medicating tank. Smaller black molly is biting at the white spot.
I have an empty fish bowl. Should I quarantine the large black molly there for a while?
It has no heater (can give it warm water every day) it has no bubbler....can molly's live without that?
Help, please.

They are tropicals so they usually do need a heater. What is the temp at? How long have they been in there together? Are you sure its ich? They don't need a bubbler but what is your filtration situation? Are you able to provide water parameters?

Personally I would use one of those floating traps you can get from most aquarists and use it to separate the Molly with the spot whilst keeping it in the same tank because chances are if it is ich any other fish in the tank are likely to get it too. Keep treating the whole aquarium according to the instructions on the ich bottle (interpet do a good treatment). By separating the Molly you will be protecting it from any further damage from the other fish

temp is 83 degrees, been diagnosed as ich by expert in store, who also checked water quality and said it was great. The small black molly biting large one with spot has been in aquarium for 1 month.

Hi Zoilerette
This black molly has been getting ich on & off for long time. Just changed treatment type to one that's not supposed to kill japonica shrimp.
Am treating fish bowl and tank for ich.
what is a floating trap? Sounds like a plan.

You don't say what size tank your mollies are in or what else you have, but I think putting a mollie in a fish bowl - which may not be very large - will just stress it out and cause more problems. You will not be able to keep it warm by adding warm water every day either - the temperature changes would be too much. Have you read any of the recent threads about Ich??

Thanks FishDad, Zoilerette and Thyra,
I just remembered I have a fish tank separator, DUH, I can put the fish with ich on one side to isolate it.
Thanks for your comments.
