I buy them . . . live. Check the LFS in your area. If there is a place that specializes in Bettas, likely they will have them live. There are frozen black worms as well. Might be an easier substitute to get.

I buy them live for like $1.00 a pint or some other small measurement. I keep them in a fridge and clean them once a day or everyother day. They are just kept in a little tupperware with airholes stuck in with a small knife. Also the dead ones are usually white or light pink it seems in my case. Also they love to live in your gravel it seems. Once i overfed a little and i had my own culture started with the fish eating them on every water change. In the soil they also seem to turn a lighter color.

And RevFred, I always try to find answers before I ask the questions. And oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I need the black worms alive. Theres only 2 lfs in my city and only one sells black worms, frozen, and I know the other doesn't because I work there. I was just wondering if theirs any online stores that sell live cultures or something.

thish is the site liked at simplydiscus.com many of the people there use blackworms and they like them a lot.one thing to keep in mind.make sure whoever you choose to supply you with blackworms make sure they are very clean.blackworms are also known as tubifix worms and are notorious for being carriers of disease.also i checked out this site and they say that their blackworms aren't tubifix
