Blacklight at night

Is this a problem? Running the regular flourescent light for 12 hours and then the blacklight over night. Would that harm the fish or plants?

Shouldn't be i wouldn't think. It would be just like a moonlight right? Maybe a litte darker than a moonlight though.

That's what I was thinkin' but not experienced enough to have confidence in it without asking.

Is there a bulb that fits the standard flourescent setup which would give a moonlight effect?

I have asked a few fish people if blacklight will be ok with the fish...but they have all answered that it would be OK for alittle while, but would stress them out a lot if left on for extended periods of time.

Only bulb I've seen that does a moonlight effect are not fluroescent lights

Good I didn't buy it then. I'm no DIYer so I think the standard setup is what I'm going to keep.
