Blackline Pike?

I saw a fish in a local fish store and I believed it was called a Blackline Pike in the Cichlid section. I haven't been able to find any info about this fish online? Its like it doesn't exist, is there like a more common name or something?

Pikes never have common names, because they aren't common enough. Most people deal with them by using the scientific name , Crenicichla something???.

Common names , for unusual fish like this, or a lot of other fish really, are made up on the spot.

So what could key terms should I use when searching for info on it?

You could go back to the shop and ask what they think it is, else google the Genus Crenicichla. Maybe try to find Vinny Kuttys page

BEWARE - there are a lot of species, and the genus is in a constant state of revision!
