Ok i have a striped raphael catfish that is super nocturnal i hardly see him due to his nature. Today i got glimpse of him thinking he was dead because he was bloated and laying in door to cave. I saw him move so he is alive, i took out cave, the fish is very active and appears healthy, but his stomach is super fat and black tint on the inside, what could it be? i dropped three algae waffers in there this evening before leaving for dinner and mall, now he is fat, a gourmai is anorexic but all other fish appear normal and fine. Is it possible the raphael is female and pregnant? how long can they hold eggs or what not if it is female? there is only one in tank so would have to be from LFS but the fish is close to two and a half months in my tank now. Just boggled because seems healthy but super fat in stomach area.

ok i went to LFS and they did not have gel tek ultra cure PX, they did however have this:

Metronidazole by seachem used to treat protozoan and anaerobic bacterial diseases of fish(cryptocaryon, hexamita, ichthyophthirius)

seems i must have messed something up i have algae forming on output of filters below biowheels which is black and red on one and green and black on the other, I also have green algae water showing, so got some work ahead of me, but have had a rough week been missing fish maint/dosing schedule so that could be part of it.

The algae problem is gone, i got algae destroyer, no problems with green water today it is crystal clear, will be cleaning filter one at a time tomorrow i will do one then next week the next or something, but tank is good now. Catfish... went to feed and his belly is normal today, i guess he just ate all the algae wafers and shrimp pellets or something because he was super fat but now he is normal looking, guess he was bloated from overfeeding or hording of food somehow.
