Hi! Today I walked into a LFS, and they had a tank full of different kinds of fish, one of them being blue acaras. I asked the guy there which was the blue acara since none of them looked familiar to me, and he pointed to a fish with a red belly near the front of the body.

According to google images, none of the pictures of blue acaras there have a red belly.

?_? Is he right? Does a blue acara have a red belly? If not, which fish does?

well i have never seen a blue acara with a red belly...but they may get them during breeding. another simular fish which has a red belly is a firemouth cichlid, could have been one of those.

well, despite how bad the fish stock of my lfs is, i always check other stores across town. One fish store needs to give their employees a little lesson on how to spell!. I was looking at some Red Marlboro Discus, and it was listed as Red Marbro discus *laughingc . Then i look a little further, to some juvinile Jack Dempsey's listed as Jack Dumpsy's*laughingc

Then they got a cichlid listed as Unknown Cichlid because nobody knows what it is!, but yet they can mark it as Aggressive, funny how that works eh?*crazysmil

And they mark a Green Terror as Semi Aggressive:eek:*crazysmil
