I have a blue devil damsel, who after a year, all of a sudden is starting to use its fin to push a section of my sand into a pile on the corner and making large gaps under some live rock. I am worried if he continues this, the live rock base may become unstable. Also, it looks dumb having these piles, after the rest of the tank is perfectly in line. Any suggestions?

Normal behavior imo. I am new in this SW hobby but i can tell you that my 2 yellowtail damsels were doing this all the time. Setting territory or searching for food i guess. It never made my LR crash. Yeah the piles are sometime big but just use a turkey baster to flatten or your hands. If you fear for you LR just buy aquarium epoxy to glue de LR

this is why it is always a good idea to place the LR directly on the bottom, not on the sandbed...but, as kahluazzz said, if you are worried about it you can attach all the LR together and hopefully create some stability
