Ok, I want to get all of the snail knowers advice on this one. I have a blue mystery snail in my 29 gallon tank. Recently I have noticed that he gets nipped at by the barbs. The nip doesn't actually hurt him, but the force pushes him into the glass and little pieces of his shell fly off. The whole front of his shell is just chipped away. Anyone know what I should do to regrow his shell and/or get them to stop pushing him into the glass? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd probably move the snail because there isn't really anything you can do to keep your other fish from picking on it. Its possible that there is a lack of calcium in your tank that is making the snail's shell extra weak, because pieces should not chip off of their shell.

Is there anything that I can get to put more calcium in the water? I saw some calcium supplement, but was for marine and was not sure it would be the right thing for fresh. About every other day we feed him and the pleco algae wafers and you constantly see him digging in the gravel. So, I think he gets plenty to eat, if that has anything to do with it.
