i have a community tank with no cichlids. if i added a couple blue rams would that matter that much? i know some cichs would make my other fish (barbs, tetras etc) food but woulnt the blue ram be good?

Could you give us an actual list of the species in there? How large is the tank? Rams will not eat any other fish, as they do not get that large. Most likely, if you have a decent sized tank, and mostly peaceful fish, the rams would do fine. Just remember that if the rams do pair off, they will become very aggressive.

like u, i hav a community tank with small fish such as cherry barbs and neon tetras. it also has slightly larger fish such as platys and dwarf gouramis. i added a blue ram to the tank a few weeks ago, hes doing fine, is very peaceful and the other fish don't trouble him at all. so i would say, go ahead and try it! rams do have long, delicate fins though, so if you do have fish like tiger barbs who tend to fin-nip then maybe u should think twice.

Nope those arnt scubasteves rams but if hes got some that look as nice, good going. Ive seen that image all over the place. There is a guy on aquabid that sells those high quality rams so if you search around youll probably find that picture in his description of the rams.

Here's my ram picture - it's not as clear as the previous photo, but his color is working out quite nicely... :D

I find that the visibility of colors vary highly depending on the angle of the lighting and the type of lighting. At the right angle, I find the sun light brings the best color to the blue rams...

Does any of you see the picture above? Sometimes I can, sometime I can't... Here's the URL for those who can't...
