what would the smallest tank for a breeding pair of blue rams?
and what would they prefer sand or gravel?

cichlids sometimes like to pick food off the bottom... I know my keyholes do, so sand would be good... but gravel isn't bad too, as long as its smaller in size... For a pair of GBR's I'd say a 15 gallon.... some might even say a 10.... really though a 20Long+ is best for them though.

Regular playsand would work just fine. I have a pair that have been trying to spawn for weeks now. They have little pits dug out all over their 60 gallon tank. Either they just have too many tankmates in there for them to concentrate or they just can't make up their mind on location lol.
