Nope, A RO/DI unit pushed the water through a membrane that removes all the little particles in the water to make it pure. Boiling wont work unless you are going to distill it. Even then I dont know if it will be the same quality.
No prob. YOu may want to look at Supermarkets and see if they have a water machin inside of them Ithink most wally world have them now. It might be a little cheaper.
at the big al's down the street from me they got r/o for.25 cents and saltwater for.50 cents ...i have two 5 gallon jugs that i fill each week and it only cost a few buck$ so you defintly wanna look into sumting like that
yea not only is it cheap but also alot easier (wich makes me do alot more water changes ) ..... most of the other lfs's around here sell it for 50 cents for r/o and 75 for saltwater so you really gotta check around .. i dont know about where you live but in south florida we have tons of lfs's
yea i would be doing double my water changes like 5g changes a week
I'll check around and email or call a few lfs and see what they offer.
BTW i live in NJ
