boita angelicus question

just out of curiosity... i was at petsmart today and i noticed (and not for the first time) that the boita angelicus is really REALLY pricey! almost 20$ any reason that this little fish is so much more expensive than its kin-fish? im prety sure i got my zebra loaches (bpita striata) for something like 3$ and the yoyo's for around 4$... just wondering.

For some reason, they're really expensive at PetSmart. Try a LFS and you might find them cheaper. Of course, you have to buy a minimum of three for them to thrive.

thanks for the insight lotus!! im not looking to buy any more loaches for the time being, waiting for a bigger tank for that, just curious why they cost more than the others

They're fairly new in the hobby, only been available for a few years. We got ours about three years ago when they were still very new, and paid about $14 each for them. I have seen them for about $7 in stores since.
