Bolivian Ram Colors

In general, will Bolivian Rams show true colors at the LFS? Or can one expect somewhat drab specimines to "color-up" once they find a home in a lower-stocked, better cared-for home tank?

I've never had bolivians but its generally the case that fish will color up more once they are in a well cared for home tank so I would assume that it is the case with bolivians as well.

Usually in the LFS, they look crappy...but once you let them settle in at home they look great! Bov's arent THAT colourful anyway though
german blue rams are better imo

I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of color for added hardiness. They still are pretty fish. Not that I couldn't handle the GBR's, but I don't want to be a slave to my tank either, and I may get lazy and procrastinate a day or two here or there on water changes.

Are the Bolivians that much hardier? I've been looking at both of them myself... the GBRs are so pretty but yeah I've been reading that they're frail.
