Bored with 20gal

I am bored with the whole comunity thing. And now i am interested into CA/SA cichlids. I already have my eyes set on firemouths, convicts, Apistos, and German Blue Rams.
My question is whould a pair of firemouths ce ok in my 20gal for life?
Should I choose big bad cichlids or peaceful dwarf cichlids?\
How many pairs of German Blue Rams or apistos can i have in my 20gal?

I'd only stick to 1 pair of anything. And i wouldn't do firemouths.

As a general rule Min of a 29 Gal long for FM's

For cons u could do one pair and nothing else.No firemouths.For GBR's or apistos one pair but then u could add other things like tetras, etc...

Hmmm I was told on Cichlid-Forums I could get away with a pair of FMS. Maybe ill stick with a big bad pair of Cons.

I wouldnt get cons if i were u.Mine were cool when i first got them but after awhile the got pretty boring.I would get the dwarf SA cichlids instead.U can do much more with them.

A pair of cons would be pushing it in a 20, IMO. They would most definitely kill anything else you put in the tank...

New idea:
Rainbow Cichlids.
I need your guys opinions.
Will they bug my serpae tetras?
Will they bug my corys and dojo loach?
Will they be realy agressive in a community?
