I have my uncles old 30 gallon tank up and running with all the fish in it ect.. The only problem is, he has no bottom feeders.. Personally, I think it's 1 fish to many, but thats just me.. It's got, 1 Goldfish, 4 gouramis, and about 8-9 mollys.. Anyway, what would you suggest for a bottom feeder for it? The tank is set at about 74 degrees.. so it's pretty low (for Wally - the goldfish) Any ideas would be helpful, thx!

Hi, bottom feeder..well i suggest you get a corydora, their really cool, their mad quick..and really active, and a very peaceful fish. they clean the bottom of the tank really good, i only have one, their really cool. If you want to learn more about bottomfeeders look at the freshwater profiles and check under catfishes, there also another type of fish who are also bottom feeders, but a corydora, a white one is cool it really highlights in the light.

Are those dwarf gouramis?  Otherwise you will end up overstocked before you ever add the bottom fish.  Cories are great, but are much happier in groups, at least 3 is preferable.  You could get some pygmy cories.  You do realize that bottom feeders only eat excess food and will need to be supplemented with wafers.  They do not eat poop, that is the gravel vacuums job.  So realistically I would stop at what you already have in the tank.

I totally disagree, One bottom feeder won't stress that tank. I have a ton load of fish in my tanks, and none have deaths or stress. It will also depend on the bio-filter of your setup mainly. But other than that, one bottom feeder should not have a negative effect on that tank.  *crazysmiley*
