I have a 16 gallon tank. This limits the species of algae eaters and bottom feeders appropriate because so many of them grow so large. Will Otos do the job and if so, how many?? Thank You for any advice.

There's not really anything bad to say about these guys, they're great fish. They like to be kept in groups and are pretty peaceful fish, only growing to about an inch and a half or so. A group of 3 or 4 of them would do a pretty good job of cleaning up any algae.

one for every 5-10 gallons works nicely, but keep them in groups of 2+, so you shoul have 2-3, depending on how bad your algae is. Always add them to an established tank, they can be a lil bit sensitive. So, have your tank running for at least about 4 months.

Another idea is a hillstream loach (if your temp is 72F or under), or maybe a pitbull pleco. Keep researching and eventually you'll find one :)
