Box of filters!!!

So my mom gave me a 29 gallon with an emperor 400 and a 55 gallon with a fluval 404.

I also found a box with a Aquaclear Mini and and Aquaclear 200.

What should i do with the extra filters? Kind of a dumb question i guess, but i hate having things and not using them .

Well the Emporer and Fluval are going on the 55g right? So the extra filters could go to new tanks, any tanks that need more current or better filteration, quarantine tanks or hospital tanks, whatever. Just depends on the what is laying around empty or full.

I agree, just because you have junk doesn't mean you need to use it. Collect it, and when you need it, you'll have it...
...and trust me you will need it eventually.

Geez, you're mom has fish tanks and filters just laying around? Good for her....and you.

You could always set up the extra filters on your current tanks so you can build up a good bacteria base. Then when you get new tanks, you don't have to worry about finding established media for your new tanks. Less cycle time....

i need about 10 aquaclear minis send them to me, really though youll find a use for them, just stick them on the 55gal for some extra filtration then when you get a new tank tehy will already be well seeded and cycling will take no time at all

Good idea.

If i add it to my 55 for a few weeks and then use that filter, the same used gravel, some of the same decorations, and the same water would a new 10 gallon tank be magically cycled?
