Hi all,

I'm new to the boards and so glad I happened upon this site.

I was just at the LFS Wednesday night and saw a tank of 4 loaches that I absolutely needed. I thought they were gold zebras, but just now I finally took a really good look at them and exclaimed "Duh! These are yoyo loaches!" I don't know how I messed that up because I have 3 gold zebras and their colors aren't even the same. (Never mind that the yoyos practically have their species written across their little sides.) I have a pic that I will try to post.

Anyhow, I have them in my quarentine tank for now. How big will these little pretties get? Has anyone known them to eat trumpet snails?

My recife plec* seems simply beside herself to finally have tankmates again. I've never seen her so active. Yay :)

Yoyos get to about 5 or 6". They may eat Malaysian trumpet snails, but you're still likely to have a few in the tank.

Those yoyos look like they're pretty small (maybe 1.5 inches? or maybe less). Definitely keep them in quarantine for a while. I believe they're generally wild caught, so you should probably quarantine for about 8 weeks.
