Hello, I've had a wonderful female kenyi for about a year now (at a whopping 5.5 inches or so) and was starting to think about breeding. The rest of her kenyi crew died out a few months back so she has no mate. The LFS only has juvies so should i buy juvies and grow em out to be eventual mates for her or buy an adult online? Is buying fish online a good idea (how much is shipping??)? I'll put a pic of her up later on.

The shipping cost is quite steep and it's not worth it if you only buy one fish unless you're buying some exotic fish like discus, koi etc. Can you ask your lfs to get you a mature one? How big is the juvenile male Kenyi?

Get a bunch. Introducing a single is likely to result in some extreme violence, especially if you get the sex wrong.. Also these fish shouldn't be kept as 1m 1 f pairs as when matured the males are so hard on the females - you are looking for 1m to 3+ females

Good idea nino I'll ask the LFS today about that. I don't think that should be too much of a problem wayne. The female I have rules the tank with an iron fin, even with a jack dempsey in there (not quite mature yet, only about 6 inches).

I agree with Wayne.
what I would do is get 1 wild male and 2 wild females, and put them with your 1 fish.... that way you get the best of both worlds (they are breeding, and you are helping out the hobby by improving the genetics of the offspring from your non-wild fish).
