BREEDING SETUP

I'm about to setup a 55g breeding tank for 4 convicts (2males & 2females). Is it better to use gravel or to leave the bottom of the tank bare. I have a buddy that runs a fish store and he is willing to trade me the fish for food and supplies. What should I do GRAVEL or NO GRAVEL?[/COLOR]

usually the bottoms left bare, the fish shouldnt care, and its easier to clean.

yeah bare is the easiest. You will have a hard time with 4 pairs in a 55. You may get away with 3 pairs, but probably will end up with only 2 pairs. One at each end of the tank.
