Looks nice, but i agree the substrate looks like a odd mix of colors. ;) . So what is that a 20g+ or are the fish just really tiny?

Just set up monday? Didnt cycle it or what?

The fish are only juveniles, a few months at most but looking good. Once adult the tips of the fins will extend and the cheeks will colour up a lot more. It'll be quite some time before they will be thinking about pairing off.

I like the rockwork, so long as it can't be undermined, they will dig away at the substrate. I think Orion already knew this and has moved his caves to act as foundations under the rock pile. I am sure the brichardi will thrive in this tank.

Substrate colour is just a matter of personal taste.....I think that's a great tank Orion!

catfishmike - isn't it a bummer how supply and demand works out? My brichardi have just spawned again but hardly any takers here, I'll have to syphon most of the fry out and feed them to the calvus!

It would seem as TaffyFish was able to answer most of the questions! :)

CFM- yes I do hope to breed them. When and if they do I would be more than happy to help you out.

DepthC- The tank was setup like it is now on Sunday. It was already an established tank, I just siphoned the water into a rubbermaid tub and moved the tank, then refiled. At $4 a fish, I wasnt going to throw them into a uncycled tank. :)

C-Man- Thanks!

Taffy was halfright about the rockwork. I did move some caves I made underall the rockwork to act as a support and more places for them to hide. They were not the same ones I originaly made however. I ended up useing 3 1/2 tupperware knockoffs to make the caves higher, and with more places to go. I used two larger ones for the base, one cut in half to give me two smaller ones for the mid section, and half of one for the very top. I then used hot glue and glued white gravel on it so it would blend better. Then I just restacked the large rocks on top of that. Unfortunatly the foot print of my 'Cichlid Hotel' was a little bit larger than I had wanted, but the brichardi seem to love it. All the time darting in and out of the rockwork.

These fish, I belive, are the best I have ever owned. I am totaly hooked now. The thought has even crossed my mind (shame on me I know) of how good they would look in my 45 plant tank redone into a Tang tank. But for now I am looking for a larger tank for just the brichardi, mabey a 30 or something similar, which will really give them lots of rock work AND plenty of sand to dig around in.

They are so very interesting of the mornings when the lights first come on. After about 5 min. or so one will come to the front, and within 30 minutes, one by one they will slowly emerge from the rocks, all 6 of them meeting in the front of the tank, like they are planing what is going to be done for the day. After that they all disperse and go about what ever they do while I am gone. I already see teritories going up all over the tank.

Oh, and BTW, if you dont like my colors, then :p
