I have heard that these things should be taken care of and eliminated from the tank. I was wondering why this is. I have a number of them in my tank and they do an amazing job at cleaning my sand of uneated food. What are the pro's and con's of having them in my tank. Thanks for your help

they are good for your tank unless they are present in overwhelming numbers--if they start killing off fish/inverts, then you know they are a problem....they are probably thriving because of overfeeding, and can thus be limited by being really tight on the food
