Brita filter for water changes?

Im wondering if I can get away with doing weekly water changes on the 25g (salt) (once its set up), with a brita water filter. I have one for making pure drinking water, and it actually has a little DI filter. DI is supposedly more pure than RO (Im not worried about purity, I just want to see if I can use it). And, my tank isnt that big so a 10% change would only be a few gallons. So, would using it to make water for weekly changes be ok?

I'm sure it would be fine (but not 100%), but I would think it would probably end up costing alot more $ than buying a 5gl jug of distilled or RO water and just refilling it, not to mention the time to run it through the britta

I dont see how it would end up costing more, I allready have it. Shouldnt cost me anything.

Yeah it does take some time, but no hurry. I can live with that.

well you see you have to replace the filters on britas, and if your putting gallons through it everyweek ontop of everyday use you would have to replace the filters much sooner.

unless I am mistaken, all a brita has is carbon

I do the the 5 gal jug thing seems to work for me it's like a buck 25 for 5 gallons.
