brown algae

Is ther any treatments for brown algae in a 20 gallon planted? Is real ugly and consumes so much time removing it.

you should be able to stop it from growing by correcting your feeding or lighting. brown algae should never be solved by chemical additives as it is easy to remedy naturally.

WalMart has a fish - Alage Eater. Go get one, it will eat all the alage in just a few hours (maybe a day or two - depending).

Oh puh plz, dont be scared! Just look at the tank the Alage Eaters are in and inspect before buying. When you get one, inspect the fish. Very simple. I buy fish from WalMart all the times and I have no problem.

Example - My Tiger Barbs came from WalMart and they are a bunch of psycho...

If I'm not mistaken, algae eating fish such as Otos love Brown Algae over the other types. If you stuck a few Otos in there, they should clear it up real quick

Walmart would be very unlikely to carry Siamese algae eaters, so what you're suggesting are either Chinese algae eaters, flying foxes or common plecos? I strongly suggest research before adding a fish to solve an immediate problem. Then again, as Java has noted, many problems are better solved in other ways than introducing another animal, whether it will help with the problem or not.
