brown algae

I was wondering if the brown algae spots on my tank were actually a good thing. I read somewhere recently that it was.... but I can't see that as being true (until someone tells me so lol). I just have a few spots o my glass. I wipe most of it off when I change my water but other than that I don't do much.

Just wondered. Any info is appreciated*thumbsups

It's not really a good thing, but it's not harmful in any way. It should go away on its own in a month or so.

It's often an issue of the maturity of the tank. It happens a lot when you have a new tank or upgrade lighting. The theory is often that it's from silicates in a new tank that are "used up" after a while.
