hey guys quick question----my nano tank has been running for like two so weeks now and i have checked my levels and they are as followed:
ammonia-0
p.h-8.2
nitrite-0
nitrate-10

well--this weekend i bought a clean up crew since i have this algae growing on all my live rocks---is this algae normal for my tank? will it eventually go away ?
how do u start getting those nice colorful algae growing on your rocks??

well this sunday i realized alot of little bubbles buliding up around my power head and flu and on my rocks---it seems like the bubbles are coming from the rocks--is that normal???

what type of algae is it? just like green hair algae? It probably is perfectly normal and cleaners (depending on type of algae and type of cleaners) will take care of it. The nice algae that wil grow on your lr your talking about is Coraline growth. Coraline comes from your lighting and it just takes time, and ussualy developes faster with lower lighting (or so im told :))

What do the bubbles look like? are they just like the little air bubbles that can from on the side of the tank walls and on powerheads? or are they weird looking? They sound like air bubbles, but can you describe them?

well yea-its a mix of like a brown thin coat and now its a hair algae--i have red legged hermit crabs and turbo-arthus snails--that should be good right? is this algae part of the steps to a good tank--so after a while the algae will stop and the coraline will stop growin!

yea--there just real tiny lookin air bubbles that seem to be coming out of the side of the tank and out of the rocks---the bubbles are goin up towards the top of the tank and alot of the little bubbles are gettin stuck or better yet stickin on to the power head and to my and my heater----its jus tiny little air bubbles it aapears--is it normal--i checked all my levels last night but everything is normal--im scared sumthing might be wrong!! there is just so many--like at least 300 hundred bubbles---what could this be!!!!!!!?????

hey quick question again----what is the best salinity level to keep my nano tank--everyone keeps tellin me different--the pet store tells me to keep it at 1020 but others tell me 1024-1025 is good----what do u or any one suggest??

let me ask one more dumb question about the coraline algae--it looks so good !

do i need to add some sort of calcium or liquid to help it grow on my rocks---i check my calcium and it is 365 ----is that good enough or should i get it higher?

i have been running my tank with my maxijet power head and my filter which is a flu 104---may i ask --what is the problem with leaving the filter pads in the filter---doesnt the pads help catch particles/wastes ? i dont understand why everyone says run the filter with no filter pads? can sumone explain? if i take them out and rinse them ----wont that be good?

well--they were not cured when i bought them--but i believe they are now---my tank levels are

amm-o
ph-8.2
nitite-0
nitrate-10

u think the cause of my nitrate is my filter pads? should i just remove them completly?
