Building an in sump refugium

#1
Looking at various pictures of in sump refugiums, I feel as though I can build one.

Any objections to getting a 20gallon tank, getting those tank separators, cutting it so that water flows over the refugium part and under for the intake part. Get some silicone to seal things. Drop my heater and soon to be purchased euroreef in the sump. For lighting I'll use the something for a 20gallon nano reef.

Regarding the pump, what Lorna is saying is if your overflow flows 500gph you do not want a pump that flows 800gph. You should try to get a pump that roughly matches the flow rate of the overflow; but, you can always install a ball valve after the pump to slow it down a bit if you have to (though that is probably not ideal).

exactly.....though you can also run a split line with a ball valve back to the fuge section from the pump......also you can run two return lines back to the tank ....... and throw some 90degree bends in will also slow it down some
