My bigger parrot fish keeps bumping the slightly smaller one. Both juvies. I wonder if one will harm the other. They are in a 55g tank with a few dither fish.

Sounds to me like they're establishing a pecking order, with the larger one asserting dominance over the smaller one. This is likely if they're either both male or both female, unfortunately I'm not sure on how to sex blood parrots. Monitor the aggression, and also what dither fish do you have with them out of interest? Bit off-topic, I don't think it'd affect temperament, just interested :)

A friend of mine owned a pair of these and i like them and i have done a fair amount of research on them and i have had a chance to watch there behavior and it sounds like they are maturing and making a pecking order between the 2 of them. It is very rare that it gets to the extent of them terring each other fins or scales apart. I wouldn't worry about it and just keep an eye on them. This should settle down as they get older and get there own terretories and find out whos boss and what not.
