From personal experience...I've never had a problem with one. I don't even know what specifically they eat, but in the shop I would always feed a variety and they seemed to be livin' so I guess they ate whatever was around.  Don't seem to picky about tankmates or water chemistry, but I wouldn't put them in with aggressive fish that might attack them. Pretty neat looking suckers.

As for biological info, sorry I don't really have any of that at hand right now. I have seen them in a few books, so I know the information is out there. Look under Borneo Loach as well.

i had two, the smaller died very soon for lack of food, i think.  From what i observed, they are poor algea eaters when compare to either ottocat or snails, since they can't scrape up algea growing on the glass.  They do eat hair aglea growing on leaves of plant readily.  When hungury strike, they occasionally search through the gravel for leftovers.
