Can a Platy get pregnant more than once without having a male present?

Hi guys,

This may sound really stupid but i have to ask.. I bought a platy which was already pregnant. It has given birth already, although i only found 1 fry. I read the females can store the male's sperm for long periods of time. Does she use it all in one go or can she continue to make herself pregnant even after giving birth once already?

I believe they store it for long periods of time and use it bit by bit. That way there's always a chance of her having fry even if the school doesn't have males.

I have heard a reference of up to 6 months with no males and several batches of fry. I would say she could probably have at least 2-3 fry drops w/ no male present.
