Can anyone help me ID this?

I woke up this morning to find this very weird looking thing in my tank.
It was just lying on the sand not moving or anything. It was white and all big and fat...it had this long stringy thing coming out the end of it (which looked like poo to me, and no im not talking about that green thing)
when i got it out to take a pic...it deflated and like all its guts came out
heres a pic:

anyone got an idea of what this nasty thing is?
oh and its around an inch and a bit long (minus the long thin bit lol)

Don't know but it looks nasty This is the kind of stuff that freaks me out about a saltwater tank, you never know what your going to find!

Could be the remains of a peanut worm, what ever it was it is harmless now as it is out of the tank and obviously no danger to anyone. Still chuckling at K's description.....
